WARNING! 10K Training – Are You Biting Off More Than You Can Chew?

It’s  a running training program called How To Start Running.

My name is Trevor Thompson and what made me look into running 10k on a deeper level was watching a friend go on long runs to keep herself healthy. I consider myself to be relatively fit, but running is not a strong point. I went about studying and researching all kinds of training programs and asked several personal instructors on how to get started, build stamina and run for long distance.

As you may have already figured out, running has become a popular form of exercise throughout the world. It is something that most people can do, it is free, and it gives people the opportunity to enjoy the outside while they are exercising. As an added bonus, there are many opportunities to compete at different levels. There are competitive races and non-competitive races that can be done to achieve personal goals. For those who have never ran before, it can seem overwhelming to get started. A 10k race is a great goal, but it is important to find the right training program.

Anytime a person begins a new exercise, it is likely they will experience some discomfort. Running is no different, which is why it is important to utilise a training program that has been laid out for you.

If running a 10k is the goal, it might not be possible to start with a 10k training program. For the person who has never ran before, there are many programs available. One program is a couch to 5k program. This type of program will ease the athlete into running. The athlete will start out walking a lot, and running just a little. As the athlete progresses, the running portion will get longer, until ultimately they will be doing a 5k. Once this has been accomplished, it will be time to pick the right 10k training program.

When picking a 10k training program, it is essential for the runner to realise their goal. Is the goal to finish a 10k, to achieve a certain time, or to win a 10k race? This will determine which program is right for the runner. There are so many free options for 10k training programs online that you could do a search for. However, there are also more intricate programs that can be downloaded for a fee, or books that can be purchased to help a runner with their training. These resources will often provide nutritional information, give extra resources to tap into the runner’s potential, and will often provide opportunities for accountability. There are many great tools for all runners in books like these, but especially for the competitive runner.

What I have come across is an exciting new solution for people searching for a training program that will help them keep motivated and sustain stamina for long distance training like 5k and 10k training.

Jago Holmes, CPT, a fully qualified and experienced personal trainer has put together this comprehensive tell-all report called How To Start Running – A Beginners Guide To Running.

According to Jago, he will guarantee that you’ll be able to “successfully and comfortably run 5 kilometres, run further, faster and for longer without the usual fatigue and supercharge your energy levels on demand.

Be sure to check out Jago Holmes’s How To Start Running, and come back here to post your comments about it. I’d love to hear your feedback on his report.

Best of Luck,

Trevor
